COALITION GATHERS AT SUPREME COURT, DEMANDS END TO TYRANNY, MEMORIALIZES VICTIMS OF ‘ROE’

WHO:
American Life League; Black Students for Life; Center for Bioethical Reform; Christian Defense Coalition; Crossroads; National Black Pro-Life Union; Pro-Life Unity; Pro-Life Action League; Rock for Life, Silent No More Awareness; Students for Life of America; 40 Days for Life.

WHAT:
A coalition of 12 of the country’s largest pro-life organizations will gather to memorialize the 49,640,776 preborn victims of the Supreme Court’s 1973 decisions, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. Held on the first day of the Supreme Court’s new session, thousands of pro-lifers around the country will gather for “Pro-Life Memorial Day,” a national day of prayer, witness and remembrance. Erik Whittington, national director of Rock for Life will lead the Washington, D.C. “Pro-Life Memorial Day” in prayer, music and speeches from some of the most prominent voices in the pro-life movement.

WHEN:
9 a.m., Oct. 6, 2008

WHERE:
Steps of the United States Supreme Court
1 First Street NE
Washington, D.C. 20543

WHY:
Because judicial tyranny has taken the lives of over 49,640,776 of our nation’s children, and pro-life citizens are saying “enough!” The event will be a rallying cry to unite all Pro-Life memorials around the country in one united event on the steps of the Supreme Court. Abortion is a national tragedy and deserves a national day of mourning.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.
